News Corp. NWSA Last Trading Session 13.65

Analysts at Oppenheimer & Co maintain their “perform” rating on News Corp Ltd. The target price for NWSA is set to $13.

According to Oppenheimer & Co, investors need to have greater confidence in News Corp’s long term growth outlook rather than short term improvement in advertising trends. The 3D showings of the movie Avatar are sold out and many viewers are likely to have been waiting for 3D seats, the analysts say.

Although News Corp is not making great revenue growth from its newspaper segment, the company is likely to have been witnessing a turnaround in all markets, the analysts say. NWSA is very bullish about the prospects of its non-consolidated assets, currently valued at $8 billion. The company is unlikely to opt for share buybacks until March 2010, the analysts add.
