			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Pluristem Therapeutics Inc. announced that it has accomplished dosing of the first of three dosage groups of patients in Europe with its placenta-derived cell therapy product, PLX-PAD, in a Phase Me dose-escalating clinical trial for the treatment of critical limb ischemia the end-stage of peripheral artery disease.</p>
<p>The three patients treated in this group received the lowest of the three doses in the trial. The Data Safety Monitoring Board an independent board monitoring the safety of PLX-PAD will meet in about 30 days to determine dose escalation to the next dose level to be administered in this trial.</p>

Alimera reported that based on these results, it plans to submit a New Drug Application to the Food and Drug Administration for approval of the low dose of Iluvien in the second quarter of 2010, followed by registration filings in various European countries and Canada; that it intends to request Priority Review of the NDA from the FDA; and that if Priority Review is granted, it can expect a response to its NDA from the FDA in the fourth quarter of 2010.</p>
