Monsanto Co. MON, Monsanto to Open China Based Research Center

Agricultural giant Monsanto Co. recently announced that they will be opening a new research center based in China. The research center, which will focus on biotechnology research will be opened in Beijing, China’s capital city.
According to the company, the new biotechnology research facility will help improve the company’s relations with Chinese research institutions with regards to genomics and plant biotechnology. The new research center will be called the Monsanto Biotechnology Research Center.
The research center will be the next to join the ranks of Monsanto’s research institutions. Monsanto also operates other research facilities in Brazil, India and the United States. The Monsanto Biotechnology Research Center will serve as the company’s base of operations for their collaborative efforts with scientists from China.
In related news, Monsanto Co. shares went up by 0.32% during midday trading.
